Ethiopian Village is a five-story affordable senior housing community in Seattle’s Rainier Valley, developed through a partnership between HumanGood and the Ethiopian Community in Seattle (ECS). Opened in 2023, the project provides much-needed housing for adults 55+ earning low incomes, supporting stability and aging in place.

The community features studio and one-bedroom apartments filled with natural light, along with shared amenities including community lounges and outdoor gathering spaces. Located near the Rainier Beach light rail station, the development offers convenient access to transit and neighborhood services.

Ground-floor space is dedicated to ECS, providing resources and support services that help community members navigate housing and economic challenges. The project’s design was shaped through extensive community engagement, incorporating cultural elements and fostering a strong sense of identity and belonging.

HV Engineering provided plumbing engineering services, supporting efficient and reliable systems for this community-focused development.
